Slide Show in Flash for Aubusson Carpets

Got my first Flash Slide show for Aubusson Carpets ready. I still have to refine some of the details, but got it implemented in a regular XHTML Page and what’s important it does also validate as Valid XHTML 1.0 Strict!. Normally I’m not a big Fan of any Flash Application for various reasons, more of personal preference.Aubusson Flash Slide ShowBut it some how fitted quite well for my presentation purposes. It just is easier for me to manage which pictures I can show. Also one can adjust the picture size and time of duration how long a picture will be shown and some other nice things. Left out on this presentation are the older web browsers which don’t get much to see. Nevertheless the rest of the Website can be viewed with any older web browser in any way.

Finally, Bill introduced to close China Window Shade Loophole

Senators Charles Schumer and Hillary Rodham Clinton and Congressman Michael McNulty Tuesday introduced legislation in both chambers of Congress that would close a trade loophole that has allowed China to circumvent a quota on textile window blinds. The bill would keep companies like Comfortex a New York upstate based Window Shade Manufacturer from suffering further as a result of Chinese manufacturers using unfair trade practices and circumventing the quota loophole.
The way it goes at the moment is that the Chinese manufacturers can purchase fabric in Taiwan, ship it to China where the rest of the shade is finished. The fabric is folded, pleated, and glued into “cellular” or “honeycomb” shapes, attached to the Top and Bottom Rail connected with cords to lower or raise the shade. These all takes place in China. The finished window blinds and shades are then shipped to the United States as “Products of Taiwan.” This allows the merchandise to completely circumvent the quota on Chinese textile window blinds and shades at a price which is cheaper than a local retailer can buy from Comfortex.

Weathered Wood Table - Venice by Riva

6 Feb 2012 at 10:49pm

weathered-wood-table-lagoon-of-venice-riva-1.jpg

We instantly fell in love with the quirks and unusual look of this weathered wood table by Riva. Once again returning to its steady muse and material, the briccole, the Italian company has incorporated these watery logs - beautiful imperfections and all - into a modern table design that stands out for all the right reasons. The Venice designed by Claudio Bellini is an innovative piece featuring these water-logged, weathered and cracked wood pillars rising out of a sheer steel tabletop inspired by the water's surface - smooth, reflective, flawless. By bringing together these two extreme opposites (the blemished and beautiful), this piece is perfectly at home in contemporary-style surroundings and interiors with rustic charm. More information is available online at Riva.
